Tuungane Pwani Organisation partners with communities across the Coast Region to advance HIV/AIDS prevention, health education, and access to quality care — including our flagship Tumaini Medical Clinic in Tezo, Kilifi County.
Founded in 2000, Tuungane Pwani Organisation (TPO) is a community-based non-profit working across Kenya's Coast Region. What began as a grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic has grown into a multi-programme organisation spanning health education, community mobilisation, and clinical care.
Today TPO runs prevention, counselling, and outreach programmes reaching thousands of households each year, and has developed Tumaini Medical Clinic — a Level III facility bringing quality healthcare closer to the communities we serve.
To improve the health, wellbeing, and socio-economic status of vulnerable communities in the Coast Region through community-driven health programmes and partnerships.
A Coast Region where every community has access to quality healthcare, health knowledge, and the opportunity to thrive free from preventable disease.
Each programme is built with — not just for — the communities it serves, from HIV prevention to maternal health and youth empowerment.
Community education, testing referrals, and awareness campaigns reducing stigma and new infections.
Peer-led counselling and household education sessions supporting testing, treatment, and adherence.
Mobile clinics and village health teams bringing screening and basic care to remote areas.
Antenatal support, safe delivery referrals, and growth monitoring for mothers and infants.
Skills training, mentorship, and livelihoods support building resilient young people and women.
Strengthening local leadership and institutions to sustain health gains beyond any single project.
Figures reflect cumulative programme reach across the Coast Region since 2000.
A Level III medical clinic developed by TPO to bring quality, affordable healthcare closer to Coast Region communities — now open for strategic partnership.
Strategic location in Tezo, existing infrastructure, strong community trust, and large population coverage make Tumaini Medical Clinic a sustainable healthcare investment with real, lasting community impact.
Through TPO's counselling programme, I learned to live positively and support others in my village facing the same journey.
Volunteering with TPO's outreach team showed me how much a single conversation can change in a household.
Partnering with TPO on the Tumaini Clinic project has been one of our most impactful CSR investments to date.
Every contribution — whether funding, time, or expertise — helps us expand HIV prevention programmes and operationalise Tumaini Medical Clinic for thousands more families.
